XAUUSD (Gold)

XAUUSD Intraday Analysis Today (May 6) – Sell Bias Below 4680 After Pullback

XAUUSD analysis today shows gold bouncing after a short-term selloff, but price is now approaching a key reaction zone. Here’s my intraday view, key levels, and trade scenarios based on current price action.

PAIR: XAUUSD

RECENT CONTEXT

Market has been in a clear downtrend for the past few sessions. Lower highs, steady sell pressure.
Yesterday and early today, price finally pushed up from the lows around 4520–4540 area looks like a relief bounce, not a trend change yet.

CURRENT PRICE AREA

Right now sitting around 4650 zone after a strong push up.
Momentum looks aggressive, but it’s running straight into previous breakdown structure.

KEY ZONES (with meaning, not just numbers)

Resistance:
4660–4680 → previous support turned resistance, breakdown area
4720 → strong intraday supply if price squeezes higher

Support:
4600 → minor intraday support
4520–4540 → recent low + liquidity zone

WHAT I’M SEEING (REAL THINKING)

This move up feels like a pullback into structure, not a clean reversal.
Price climbed fast usually that means either continuation… or a trap into resistance.

Right now it’s approaching a decision zone.
If sellers step in here, downside continuation makes sense.

MY BIAS (be clear, no hesitation)

I’m bearish below 4680.
Still looks like a sell-the-rally market unless proven otherwise.

INVALIDATION (very important)

If price breaks and holds above 4700–4720, then this bearish idea is weak.
That would signal stronger buyers stepping in.

TRADE SCENARIOS

Scenario 1 (Preferred – Bearish):

If price pushes into 4660–4680 and shows rejection (wicks / weak candles),
I’ll look for shorts targeting 4600 → 4540.

Scenario 2 (Alternative – Bullish):

If price breaks above 4680 cleanly and holds,
then we could see continuation toward 4720 next.

WHY TODAY MATTERS

No strong fundamental driver visible.
This is a technical + liquidity-driven session moves will likely come from stop hunts and session volatility.

FINAL THOUGHT

This doesn’t feel like a reversal yet.
More like a pullback into supply.

Best approach right now:
Wait. Let price come into resistance.
No chasing in the middle.
