XAUUSD (Gold)

XAUUSD Analysis Today: Gold Rejected at 4730, Bearish Bias Below 4705 | Next Move Toward 4655?

PAIR: XAUUSD (15M)

Market context (what just happened)
Day 1 of the week started messy. We had that early push up into the 4730 area, but it didn’t hold at all — sharp rejection and then a steady sell-off through the session. The drop wasn’t a single impulse, more like controlled selling with lower highs forming. By NY, price was already bleeding into the 4680 zone.

Current situation
Now sitting around 4680–4685, just chopping. The move down slowed, and price is consolidating after the drop, looks like a pause, not a reversal (yet).

Key zones (with meaning)

  • Resistance: 4705 – 4725
    • 4725–4730 = clear rejection area from today
    • Sellers stepped in aggressively here
  • Support: 4670 – 4655
    • 4670 = intraday support, already reacted once
    • 4655 = liquidity below, likely target if breakdown happens

Technical reasoning
Structure shifted intraday. We went from a higher high attempt into failure + lower high + breakdown. That’s usually a sign of short-term bearish control.

Also, the bounce from 4670 wasn’t strong, no displacement, just slow grind. That tells me buyers are not fully in yet.

Right now, this looks like bearish continuation after pullback, not accumulation.

My bias
Bearish below 4705

As long as price stays under that supply zone, I’m looking for continuation toward lower liquidity.

Invalidation
If price breaks and holds above 4725, then this whole bearish idea is wrong. That would shift structure back bullish intraday.

Trade scenarios

Scenario 1 (preferred):
If price pulls back into 4700–4715 and rejects → short targeting 4670 → 4655

Scenario 2:
If price breaks below 4670 cleanly → continuation sell toward 4655 / lower liquidity

(Alternative bullish scenario)
If price breaks above 4725 with strong momentum → buy pullbacks, targeting higher highs

Why today matters
First day of the week often sets tone. Today showed rejection from highs + sellers active, not exactly bullish behavior. Also, gold tends to expand after these slow grind sessions, tomorrow could bring volatility.

Conclusion
I’m not buying this consolidation. It feels like a pause after selling, not strength.

For tomorrow:

  • I prefer selling pullbacks into 4700+
  • Or waiting for breakdown below 4670

Unless buyers reclaim 4725, downside still looks in play.
